Samyang 14mm 2.8 is one of my favorite lenses

A full-frame camera like the Nikon D600 requires good glass to really shine. The incredibly cheap Samyang AE 14mm ED AS IF UMC lens received great praise in reviews and after getting one myself I totally agree with them. It instantly became one of my favorite lenses.

Sure, it's got no autofocus, but the manual focusing ring is really accurate, and the focus indicator lamp really helps at small appertures. Shooting in live view with some moderate magnification is a way to get that really critical focus under control too. Besides, shooting it stopped down with focus set to a couple of meters gets everything in focus from a couple of meters to infinity.
